Once again our scouts will be opening the city council meeting.  Please sign up here.

Some of our council members will be attending our Blue and Gold Banquet!

Den Meetings   2/11/16

All dens will be meeting at St. Max.  Tigers will start at 6:30pm, all other dens at 7:00pm.

Please bring your checkbook to this meeting.  This is the deadline to buy tickets to the Blue and Gold Banquet.  This is also the deadline to sign up and pay for the overnight trip on the USS Iowa.

Theme: A Scout is Brave

One of our very own parents, Dennis Bopp, will be teaching the scouts about how law enforcement officers gather evidence.  The boys will have a chance to ask questions and learn more about what it takes to have a career in law enforcement.

Remember to bring your derby car to the pack meeting.

All cars must be weighed and impounded.

Pinewood Derby Update

Get ready to race!

Cub Scout Pack 227's Pinewood Derby is right around the corner.

No power tools?  No problem!

Come to our build clinics.  

Saturday, January 9th 11am-4pm at St. Max

Saturday, January 16th 11am-4pm at St. Max



Templates for Pinewood Derby car designs can be found here.

All cars must be impounded at our Pack Meeting on January 21st.

Impound will begin at 6:30pm.

Pinewood Derby Race on Saturday, January 30th.

Check in at noon.  Race begins at 1pm.

New this year:  Food available for purchase from Jersey Dogs hot dog cart!

Meals (hot dog, chips, drink) $6.

Meal tickets will be for sale at the build clinics and the January meetings.

Cub scouts race for free.  

Siblings/parents who want to race will pay $5 at the door to cover the cost of the track master.

Family Day At Camp Josepho

10am-4pm

Fun family day at Camp Josepho in Pacific Palisades.

Cub Scouts can try BB Gun shooting, Archery, Holiday Crafts, Hiking, etc.

Registration includes all activities and lunch.

There is a small registration discount if we sign up as a group of 10.  Group registration is $20 pp.

Pinewood Derby

It's time to get ready for Pack 227 Pinewood Derby!  Here's all the information you need to know to participate in this fun event.  It is a highlight of the Cub Scout year.



Mark your calendars:  Pinewood Derby 2016 will be held in the afternoon on January 30, 2016.

All registered Cub Scouts receive one official derby car kit and entrance into the official Pinewood Derby race.



Parents and siblings can race, too!  Extra kits are available for $5 each.  All non-scouts also pay a $5 entry fee on race day.  Parents and siblings can build cars using "modified" rules (see below).



The Derby will take place at St. Max in O'Reilly hall and is conducted by a professional track master.



Not sure how to build a Pinewood Derby car?  No problem!  Pack 227 will host Pinewood Derby build clinics on Saturday, January 9th, and Saturday, January 16th.  Both build clinics will be held at St. Max.  Tools and help available during the clinic.

In place of our regular Den and Pack meetings, we will have a Cub Scout Carnival on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 7-8 pm.  The carnival games will be hosted by the Bear Den as part of their "Grin and Bear It" requirements.  Don't miss this fun event!
