Important Dates for Webelos Only



As Webelos begin to plan their transition to Boy Scouts, there are several important events.





Wednesday, January 10th:  Flag Ceremony.  This is a Webelos requirement.  



Webelos who can't attend should let Mr. Dato know.





Monday, January 15th:  Troop 485 meeting.  All Webelos are invited to attend the troop meeting at Westminster Presbyterian Church   32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village


7:30-9:00 pm

Monday, January 29th:  Troop 127 Open House.  7pm.  Agoura Bible Fellowship.  5564 Foothill Dr.


This is for Webelos II and their parents.

June 1-3:  Tenderfoot Overnighter with Troop 127.  For new scouts in Troop 127.








Pinewood Derby is Coming

Mark your calendars for this event.  It is one of the highlights of the year!


All Cub Scouts will be given a kit to build a pinewood derby car.


Kits will be distributed in January to allow for plenty of time to perfect your design!


Want to learn more about Pinewood Derby racing?  


Check out this drop in event sponsored by the Boy Scout Council.





Our pack will also hold a Pinewood Derby build clinic.  There you will have access to some power tools and advice from other Cub Scout parents to help you build your pinewood derby car.  More information about the build clinic will be sent soon.

Pinewood Derby










Pack 227 will hold its annual Pinewood Derby race this Saturday, March 25th.  


The derby will take place at St. Max in O'Reilly Hall.


Arrive at noon to check in your car.  


Hot dog meals ($6/each) will be available for purchase from Jersey Dogs.


With over forty cars racing, it's important that we start on time!  


The derby should end between 2-3 pm.

Shooting Sports Party


The scouts voted and chose a shooting sports party as the reward for their successful First Aid Kit fundraiser.  This event will take place on Sunday, February 26th, from 12:30-4:00pm at Camp Josepho.  Scouts will enjoy a pizza lunch and then an afternoon of BB Guns and Archery.  We'll end the party with songs, skits and s'mores around the campfire.  Remember to bring your new s'mores sticks!  This event is FREE for scouts.  $20 per participating sibling.  Sign up online.

January Updates and Events

Flag Ceremony at Agoura Hills City Hall


Wednesday, January 11th.  5:45-6:15 pm


Full Class A Uniforms


All Scouts who have participated in City Council flag ceremonies will be recognized by the mayor and council members at the Blue an Gold banquet.  If you have not yet participated, please be sure to sign up this month or next!  It's very special for the boys to receive recognition from their city leaders.






Den Meetings


Thursday, January 12th.  7-8pm


The Webelos I den will be meeting off site at Fire Station 89.  Other dens will meet at St. Max.





Pack Meeting


Thursday, January 19th.  7-8 pm


We will be kicking off our Pinewood Derby preparations at this meeting.  Learn what makes a fast car and sketch out your ideas.  All scouts will receive a free car kit to take home.  Siblings may also participate in the derby for a $10 fee which includes the car kit and race entry. 


Please be sure to wear your full Class A uniform to the meeting.  We will be taking photos for the Blue & Gold banquet.

Pinewood Derby





It's time to get ready for Pack 227 Pinewood Derby!  Here's all the information you need to know to participate in this fun event.  It is a highlight of the Cub Scout year.



Mark your calendars:  Pinewood Derby 2016 will be held in the afternoon on January 30, 2016.

All registered Cub Scouts receive one official derby car kit and entrance into the official Pinewood Derby race.



Parents and siblings can race, too!  Extra kits are available for $5 each.  All non-scouts also pay a $5 entry fee on race day.  Parents and siblings can build cars using "modified" rules (see below).



The Derby will take place at St. Max in O'Reilly hall and is conducted by a professional track master.



Not sure how to build a Pinewood Derby car?  No problem!  Pack 227 will host Pinewood Derby build clinics on Saturday, January 9th, and Saturday, January 16th.  Both build clinics will be held at St. Max.  Tools and help available during the clinic.
