Important Dates for Webelos Only



As Webelos begin to plan their transition to Boy Scouts, there are several important events.





Wednesday, January 10th:  Flag Ceremony.  This is a Webelos requirement.

Monday, January 15th:  Troop 485 meeting.  All Webelos are invited to attend the troop meeting at Westminster Presbyterian Church   32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village

Monday, January 29th:  Troop 127 Open House.  7pm.  Agoura Bible Fellowship.  5564 Foothill Dr.


This is for Webelos II and their parents.  





Saturday February 3:  Canoe Practice with Troop 127.  9:00-12:00

Monday, March 26:  New Parent Meeting Troop 127  7pm, Agoura Bible Fellowship.  For those Webelos who have decided to join Troop 127.





April 27-April 29th:  Camporee.  For Webelos I and II.  





Monday, May 7th:  New Scouts first meeting Troop 127.  Agoura Bible Fellowship.  7pm





June 1-3:  Tenderfoot Overnighter with Troop 127.  For new scouts in Troop 127.








Pinewood Derby is Coming

Mark your calendars for this event.  It is one of the highlights of the year!


All Cub Scouts will be given a kit to build a pinewood derby car.


Kits will be distributed in January to allow for plenty of time to perfect your design!


Want to learn more about Pinewood Derby racing?  


Check out this drop in event sponsored by the Boy Scout Council.





Our pack will also hold a Pinewood Derby build clinic.  There you will have access to some power tools and advice from other Cub Scout parents to help you build your pinewood derby car.  More information about the build clinic will be sent soon.

A Scout is Helpful

              




As you know, many people have been displaced by the Thomas Fire.  If you would like to help those affected by this disaster, please consider donating gift cards!  Restaurants, Department Stores, Grocery Stores, Target, etc.
Any amount is appreciated (even unused balances or gift cards you have around the house that you'll never use).  Tiger parent, Matthew Collins (Kiran's dad), will be collecting gift cards and delivering them to evacuees in Ventura.  He is also accepting donations of pet food.  If you would like to help, please bring your donations to the food drive event on Saturday or the shooting sports event on Sunday.  Matthew will be at both events to accept your generous donations.

December Pack Meeting

Join us for a fun evening as the Bear Den presents a Cub Scout Carnival!


Due to the carnival, we will not be presenting awards at the meeting this month.





No den meetings at the church this month.


Den leaders will contact you regarding where/when individual dens will be meeting.





Two December Flag Ceremonies


We have been invited by the Agoura Hills City Council to lead the flag ceremony at their special reorganization meeting on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. 


We will also be conducting the flag ceremony at the regular meeting on December 13th.

We desperately need more scouts to sign up to help with these flag ceremonies!





Fundraiser


The scouts have done a fantastic job with our lantern fundraiser.


All money must be turned in by 12/7/17. 


We will be drawing a raffle ticket for the BB Gun at the pack meeting!


All scouts who have sold 10+ lanterns will receive a clip on headlamp.

Santa Comes to Agoura


Final food drive event:  Saturday, 12/9/17


8:30-11:00 am


*Note:  This is the time posted by the event organizers.  There is a possibility the event may end earlier than 11am, especially if a lot of volunteers show up!


Scouts wear Class A uniforms.


Help bag and load donated food.

This is a great, local cause and we would love to see many of our scouts there helping out.

Camping trip is currently full, but we will take a waitlist.

Reyes Adobe Days Parade

         






Pack 227 will be marching in the Reyes Adobe Days Parade!


Saturday, October 14th


Meet at Yerba Beuna Elementary at 9:15am.


Bring signed waiver form.


Bring remote control cars.


Scouts wear full Class A uniforms.


We will gather at YB and then move to the staging area on Reyes Adobe Road.


There will be road closures.  Carpooling is suggested.  


Drop off area is on Lindero Canyon Road (the back side of YB Elementary School)


Or park at Reyes Adobe Park and take the free shuttle to the parade staging area.
