September Meetings and Events







September means Back to Scouting!


First den meetings of the year are on Thursday, September 14th!


7-8 pm


O'Reilly Hall at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church





Returning scouts, please wear your full Class A uniform and bring your new handbook.


New and prospective scouts are welcome (no uniform needed).





Dues for 2017-2018 are only $140.  Add $12 if you would like to subscribe to the monthly scouting magazine "Boy's Life".


Please bring your checkbook to the meeting to pay your dues.  Or, new this year, pay your dues online through Venmo (@bsapack227).





We will be recruiting parent volunteers at the meeting, so please plan to sign up to share your skills and talents.

August Updates and Events






Back to school means back to scouting!  We hope all of our scouting families have had a wonderful and relaxing summer.  We are busy planning a fun calendar of exciting activities for all our Cub Scouts.  Be sure to check out the calendar link for a of upcoming meeting dates.




Pack Picnic


Saturday, August 26th

Morrison Park, Agoura Hills


Here's a chance to catch up with all your Cub Scout friends and enjoy some yummy food and fun games.  Meet at Morrison Park in Agoura Hills.  We will have a potluck lunch (sign up via Evite).  Then stay for fun and games.  This event is for the whole family.  Hope to see you there!





Rocket Academy Event

Our third annual Rocket Academy event is right around the corner.  Please invite your friends and neighbors to come and see how much fun scouting can be.  We will make several kinds of air powered rockets and share some rocket treats, too!  Please sign up here to help out with this event.

Pack 227 is going digital.  This year we will be participating in the BSA online registration program and collecting dues through PayPal.  Watch your email for more information coming soon.

Pinewood Derby










Pack 227 will hold its annual Pinewood Derby race this Saturday, March 25th.  


The derby will take place at St. Max in O'Reilly Hall.


Arrive at noon to check in your car.  


Hot dog meals ($6/each) will be available for purchase from Jersey Dogs.


With over forty cars racing, it's important that we start on time!  


The derby should end between 2-3 pm.

Shooting Sports Party


The scouts voted and chose a shooting sports party as the reward for their successful First Aid Kit fundraiser.  This event will take place on Sunday, February 26th, from 12:30-4:00pm at Camp Josepho.  Scouts will enjoy a pizza lunch and then an afternoon of BB Guns and Archery.  We'll end the party with songs, skits and s'mores around the campfire.  Remember to bring your new s'mores sticks!  This event is FREE for scouts.  $20 per participating sibling.  Sign up online.
